In 2013, Rutgers and Equimundo started a three-year collaboration called MenCare+. The MenCare+ campaign aimed to engage men as equitable partners in maternal, newborn and child health, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), caregiving, and violence prevention in Brazil, Indonesia, Rwanda and South Africa.
This document is an overview of +Pai, the MenCare+ initiative in Brazil. +Pai aims to contribute to men’s gender equitable relations, their involvement in maternal and child health care as well as self-care, and emotional connection to their sons and daughters.
