The MenCare+ program is a three-year, four-country collaboration between Equimundo and Rutgers WPF, created to engage men ages 15-35 as partners in maternal and child health and in sexual and reproductive health and rights. The program is implemented by Equimundo, Rutgers WPF, and partner organizations in Brazil, Indonesia, Rwanda, and South Africa.
This brief highlights the MenCare+ work in Rwanda to engage men and boys with women and girls to work together towards gender equality. The program challenges social and gender norms that perpetuate inequality and violence against women and girls, and hinder the full attainment of women’s and men’s sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
