As part of the Homens Cuidam (“Men Care”) campaign in Brazil, MenCare partner Equimundo has launched a new video series called Família Brasileira (“Brazilian Family”) that highlights a diversity of Brazilian families with one thing in common: the recognition that men’s participation in caregiving is important for children’s development and gender equality.
The first episode was released in February and tells the story of Carol and Kika, a lesbian couple who, after being married for eight years, decided to become mothers. In a family with two mothers and one daughter, Carol and Kika explain how they will emphasize the that both women and men can play important caregiving roles for children, and will seek out positive role models of all genders for their daughter Tereza.
